Dan Barreiro is one of the most popular and richest Radio Host who was born on January 21, 1955 in Gary, Indiana, United States. Dan is popularly known by the name of “The Big Ticket” on KFAN because of his outstanding ratings. Dan is also known by the name “Hi-Fi” because he spends the majority of his income on audio equipment. The show’s producer will be Minnesota Golden Gophers football sideline reporter and Edina High School tennis player Justin Gaard. Barreiro began his career with KFAN in 1992, where he teamed up on air together with Chad Hartman, who is the son of long-time Star Tribune columnist Sid Hartman. The pair was named”the “Best Sports Talk Radio Hosts” in 2000 by the local daily City Pages. Then, in 2001 the couple split and Hartman as host, which continued to Barreiro’s. Hartman was fired because of Clear Channel budget cuts in 2009. Barreiro was the sole host. Barreiro was awarded the title “Best Sports Talk Radio Host” from City Pages in 2005 and in 2006.
On the 8th of November in 2007, rumors began being reported on the local Twin Cities newspapers regarding a possible shift to the lower end of the dial for Barreiro up to the AM 1500 KFAN. But, Barreiro was in contract negotiations in talks with Clear Channel regarding a long time extension of his contract at KFAN and did acknowledge the issue by declaring “We’re letting the process play out, I’ll just leave it at that.” Barreiro’s proposal from KSTP was then accepted with Clear Channel on November 28 Then, Dan chose to remain in KFAN for the long-term.

However, after Favre signed with the Vikings on August 18, 2009, Gerbschmidt claimed that he lit the truck on fire. That was part of a memorable rant with Barreiro on the day Favre signed with the Vikings in which Barreiro allegedly called Gerbschmidt, who was at a bar in Chippewa Falls with his brother Randy after leaving work early the morning that the Favre news broke. Admittedly drunk, Gerbschmidt spent nearly 10 minutes fuming, and at times nearly crying, over Favre’s signing, saying he was sad “for the children of Wisconsin who worshiped him”, and saying Favre “best watch himself” when he comes back to Wisconsin.

Gerbschmidt started a blog which can be read on Barreiro’s page on KFAN’s website but it has not been updated since 2010.
