In a MyMemory.com poll of 1,500 women, 25 percent admitted to posting unflattering pictures of their friends online, according to The Telegraph.

The reasons range from having a fall out with a friend to seeking revenge after another “friend” posted an ugly shot.

Regardless, the victims of these tagging crimes don’t find it a laughing matter. About 3 in 4 will de-tag ugly pictures, while roughly 2 out of 3 women surveyed would get mad at a friend for posting a not-so-cute photo.

Rebecca Huggler, the cofounder of MyMemory.com, a site that allows users to create gifts from photos, said she was a bit shocked with the results of the survey.

"To see that so many women deliberately commit ‘photo sabotage’ and upload unflattering pictures of friends is somewhat surprising, particularly when you consider how many said they’d be mad if the same was done to them,”  told The Telegraph.

Mymemory.com is based on the British Isle of Jersey and has raised $3 million in funding. Huggler was previously a TV newscaster and reporter.
